Syria Gate
A hilltop citadel in the heart of Aleppo, more than 4,000 years old. The view over the old city from the top is unmissable.
History
The mound has been settled since the 3rd millennium BC; most of today's walls and the gate date from the Ayyubid and Mamluk eras.
